Healthy and delicious! Home-made granola bars

Here’s a delightful recipe for Homemade Strawberry and Blueberry Granola Bars that combines the sweetness of berries with wholesome ingredients. These bars are perfect for a quick snack or an on-the-go breakfast.
These homemade granola bars are bursting with juicy strawberries and plump blueberries. Packed with fibre, healthy fats, and natural sweetness, they’re a delightful treat for any time of day.



Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • 100g butter (plus extra for greasing)

  • 200g porridge oats

  • 100g sunflower seeds

  • 50g sesame seeds

  • 50g chopped walnuts

  • 3 tbsp honey

  • 100g light muscovado sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 100g dried cranberries, cherries, or blueberries (or a mix)



Instructions:

1 Preheat the Oven:

Heat your oven to 160°C (fan 140°C or gas mark 3).
Butter and line the base of an 18 x 25cm tin.

2 Toast the Oats, Seeds, and Nuts:
Mix the oats, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and chopped walnuts in a roasting tin.
Toast in the oven for 5-10 minutes until lightly golden.

3 Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
In a pan, warm the butter, honey, and light muscovado sugar.
Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined.

4 Combine Everything:
Add the toasted oat mix, ground cinnamon, and dried fruit to the pan.
Mix until all the oats are well coated.

5 Bake:
Transfer the mixture to the prepared tin.
Press it down lightly to create an even layer.
Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.

6 Cool and Cut:
Let the granola bars cool in the tin.
Once cool, cut into 12 bars.
